The 2nd International Conference on Quantitative Logic and Soft Computing (QL&SC2010) will be held from 22-25, October, 2010，in Xiamen, China.
As is well known, inference and computing are two important aspects of scientific research. Since the famous work fuzzy sets proposed by Zadeh in 1965, these two aspects have experienced great changes. In fuzzy reasoning, the minor premise may differ from the major premise, and in soft computing, not only the results may contain errors but also the method may differ from classical one. “APPROXIMATE” is the key idea both for fuzzy reasoning and soft computing. It is certain one should not go too far in approximation, and a certain DEGREE must be kept in mind. This is the essential idea of quantitative logic, and soft computing.
Built on the success of the Conference on QL&QS2009, the QL&SC2010 is a major symposium for scientists, engineers and practitioners all around the world to present their latest researches, results, ideas, developments and applications in such areas as quantitative logic，many-valued logic, fuzzy logic, quantification of software, artificial intelligence, fuzzy sets and systems, soft computing etc. It aims to provide a platform for mutual exchanges for experts and scholars around the world in these fields.
